I began my automotive career as an ASE Master Automobile Technician, working for six years across various shops and dealerships while pursuing degrees in applied science and Technology Education. In 2008, I transitioned to teaching high school automotive technology, where I set up the program at Desert Hills High School. After a decade, I moved to Dixie Technical College as the Program Manager, developing their automotive training program and expanding it significantly. Later, I supported additional programs and eventually became the Director of Industrial Programs, overseeing multiple departments and collaborating with companies for job placement. In 2021, I joined MSX as a Technical Instructional Designer, working with Polestar America to train Hertz technicians on electric vehicle service.

2021 EV Service Safety Update Module 3
This update presentation focuses on the safety protocols and procedures for servicing electric vehicles (EVs). It covers critical components like the Electric Power Control Unit (EPCU), high-voltage battery packs, and cables, emphasizing the importance of handling high-voltage systems with caution. The document outlines the necessary safety equipment, including insulated gloves and tools, and details step-by-step instructions for disabling and re-enabling high-voltage systems in vehicles like the Ioniq and Kona. It also provides guidance on voltage verification, proper use of diagnostic tools, and procedures for safely restoring vehicle functionality after service.
2022 Chassis-Braking Diagnosis and Repair
This presentation is an in-depth overview of diagnostic and repair procedures for both disc and drum brake systems in electric vehicles (EVs). It covers key topics such as rotor and pad inspection, caliper fluid leakage, brake system bleeding, and the use of special tools. The document emphasizes proper safety protocols, including when to apply specific repair techniques, and offers knowledge checks throughout to reinforce learning. The guide also includes practical steps for addressing issues like brake wear, contamination, and caliper function, ensuring safe and effective repairs
2024 Polestar 3 Technical Summit HV Workshop Activities
This document outlines activities designed to train participants on the technical changes in the Polestar 3 electric vehicle and its interaction with VIDA diagnostic software. The document includes lessons focused on component identification, high-voltage system de-energization and re-energization, interlock circuit diagnostics, and the safe removal of the HV battery. The workshop emphasizes safety protocols, proper use of tools, and voltage measurements, while guiding students through procedures for diagnosing and servicing high-voltage components
Polestar P3 HV Course Schedule
The Polestar P3 HV Course Schedule outlines a two-day high-voltage (HV) training program for instructors. Day 1 covers lectures on HV components and electrical distribution, followed by lab activities focused on identifying and understanding front and rear HV parts, interlock systems, vehicle de-energization, and component removal. Day 2 includes further lectures, HV battery removal, and internal component identification. The program culminates in three written tests, each requiring a 90% pass rate, certifying participants for HV component, battery, and BDU service. The schedule also lists required personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools.
Polestar PS2 High Voltage Training
This presentation outlines a comprehensive training program on high-voltage (HV) systems for Polestar 2 vehicles. The course covers essential topics, including HV safety protocols, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and HV system components such as the battery, inverters, and cooling systems. Detailed procedures for de-energizing and re-energizing the vehicle, along with testing and servicing the Battery Disconnect Unit (BDU) and Manual Service Disconnect (MSD), are included. The course also emphasizes hands-on lab activities for safe handling of HV components, isolation testing, and cooling system maintenance
